SunLife Warwick Horizons over 50s Estate in Tooth Street, Warwick, is "full-steam ahead" with 36 lots awaiting ownership.
Property Developer Tim Wright told The Town & Country Journal that there has been "a great demand" for this type of property in Canberra and anticipates the same to be true on the Southern Downs.
"We think that here are wonderful opportunities for a development like this (in Warwick)," he said. "There are people moving from the city who are looking for a community to belong to ... (and) it is an ageing community. Our quest, within this time of an increase in construction costs, is to make it affordable."
Mr Wright said the company is "working hard to ensure delivery of a competitive product and offer a great lifestyle".
The development is now "in the phase of seeking a 97 lot Development Approval" from Southern Downs Regional Council before the commencement of civil works as the company continues to work towards an optimum outcome.
"We are confident our hard work on cost planning and intensive talking and quoting with the trades and suppliers has paid off to a level of price surety," Mr Wright said.
SunLife Warwick Horizons will be a development that residents and other locals "will be proud of," he continued.
"We now have various house designs with floor plans now distributed to all our interested buyers. At this point, we have lot prices and a price range for the homes. By the time we go to sales contracts, we will need to have locked in home build prices and packages.
Open days to visit the site and discuss the development will be from Wednesday, June 5 to Sunday, June 9.
