Bianca Weier might have won five awards as part of the Warwick Rodeo Queen quest but it won’t only be trophy presentations at the rodeo - she will be competing in the open barrel race.
She won the rodeo queen quest, overall fundraiser, rodeo horsemanship, personality and appearance awards at the award ceremony.
Away from rodeo, she is a teacher’s aide at Warwick State High School and mother of 13-year-old daughter Jayda.
“It is very exciting looking towards the rodeo,” she said.
She raised $4760 and said she was grateful to all the people and businesses who supported her fundraising.
“A big thank you to award co-ordinator Cheyenne Neylon for all the work she put in,” Bianca said.
As a junior, she won six successive National Rodeo Association barrel racing titles, a rookie title in 2006 and a Wildside title in 2008.
At the media day, princess runner up and Miss Congeniality Shanna Yates said she was looking forward to seeing everyone in the arena during the rodeo under the lights.
She has three horses and competes in pony club, showing and barrel racing.
“I am hoping to get more into rodeo,” she said.
