Stanthorpe golfer Hannah Reeves has won her first tournament as a professional when she won the Mollymook Qualifier for the New South Wales Open Championships.
She first played golf in Stanthorpe as an 11-year-old and attended the Hills Golf Academy College and Boarding School at Jimboomba from year 9. Hannah was a regular in Queensland teams as a junior.
The win at Mollymook on the Central Coast of New South Wales earns her Order of Merit points and the chance to play in more prestigious tournaments. The 23-year-old has competed in tournaments in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and America.
She currently works in the pro shop at the Brisbane Golf Club at Yeerongpilly in between tournaments.
Hannah's career highlight was last year when she won one of two Karrie Webb Scholarships for amateurs from Queensland to play three tournaments in Florida, United States, and stay at the home of Karrie Webb. The Stanthorpe golfer was second in one tournament. While she has already qualified for the New South Wales Open Championship, Hannah will compete in another qualifier this week at Wagga Wagga.
