Seeing is believing
Progress at Stanthorpe Library and Art Gallery

When accepting a local dinner with friends invite on May 18, there was astonishment and awe from the ranks to see the Stanthorpe Library and Art Gallery precinct lit up and visibly less enclosure free.
As we went to print this week Southern Downs Regional Council confirmed that progress is striding ahead and the library will shortly be able to store more than tools.
On Sunday, May 19 there were many passers-by that also were in awe of seeing so much more than before.
"We can't wait to be inside again," a local Mum, on her way to the first day of the Border District Eisteddfod in the opposite Stanthorpe Civic Centre told us.
Apart from the time of relocation for refurbishment, the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery has been in its current location since 1988.
The Town & Country Journal stresses that the site is not accessible, with roping in place for good reason, and ask everyone to respect the work still-in-progress. Council anticipates a mid-late June timeframe for visitors to officially return for library services.
